The City of Rome has officially inaugurated its new Fire Brigade Control Room, a state-of-the-art facility designed to strengthen emergency coordination and meet the increasing operational demands of one of Italy's most important emergency services.

The new control room has been developed to centralize supervision, coordination and incident management within a modern operational environment, capable of supporting continuous operations while adapting to the evolving technological requirements of next-generation control centres.

In cooperation with our Italian partner, Intermark Sistemi, Roomdimensions was responsible for the design, manufacture, and supply of the technical furniture for the control center, developing a solution fully tailored to the facility’s functional needs.

An infrastructure designed for long-term flexibility

The center’s layout combines different types of consoles to meet the needs of the project’s various operational areas. Each configuration has been designed to accommodate the planned technological equipment, maintaining an orderly layout, optimizing the available space, and facilitating future infrastructure expansions.

The project features Roomdimensions' LITE consoles, incorporating high-resistance compact phenolic work surfaces with rounded edges and integrated LED lighting. An aluminium structural rail enables flexible monitor arm installation and adjustment, allowing each workstation to be configured according to operational requirements.

Technical integration built into the furniture

A key feature of the project is the way technical infrastructure has been fully integrated into the console design.

Each workstation includes dedicated technical compartments for electronic equipment, 19-inch compatible rack spaces, independent cable management routes and raised-floor cable access, simplifying installation, maintenance and future system expansions while keeping all technical components protected and easily accessible.

Integrated power outlets, USB ports, RJ45 network connections and wireless charging points are incorporated directly into the work surface, providing operators with a clean, organised and highly functional workspace.

A solution engineered for mission-critical environments

Beyond the furniture itself, this project reflects the growing need for robust, modular infrastructures capable of evolving alongside operational technology.

The flexibility of the LITE console range allows each installation to be tailored to specific project requirements while seamlessly integrating audiovisual systems, communications equipment and technical infrastructure into a single furniture solution.
